Listening to this guy right now that I just discovered on SoundCloud. Out of ChiTown, he's got a bunch of FIRE re-rubs that I'm defintiely diggin'. His re-rub of 'Just Another Groove' is quite funky and progressive at the same time and builds nicely with those groovy vocals. Then up next is his twist on Far Too Loud - 'Start The Party' which is a stomper! Shakedown - 'At Night' is back again with its 'funk to the max' style. Love the wawa guitar sound in the background! Then, 'Blowout' is a classic sounding choon with its old school breakdowns and nu skool bass and funk in the heart of the track. 'Beat Goes Boom' is simply put, AMAZING! Krafty Kuts

He is the one and only Krafty Kuts. The breakbeat rockin', bass droppin', mad scratchin turntablist, king of funk master!!! He's always putting out great tunes and has been giving away breakbeat re-rubs of tracks on his SoundCloud for a while now. But if you follow him you know they don't stay up for long. Artist of the Week: Michael Cassette

OK, so I'm starting an 'Artist of the Week' section with my personal favorite producer or DJ at the moment. I'll post a youtube video, a SoundCloud widget, direct link, etc. with what I've chosen for you all to listen. If it's on Beatport or iTunes, I'll also post the link to buy it (I do believe in supporting my favorite artists) so you can grab it for yourself.

If you know me, you know I love many sounds. I've been listening to some amazing progressive house today and thought you should know a little bit more about one particular producer I love: Michael Cassette! He's a producer from Finland who hasn't let too much info out about himself, but from what is known is that he makes music with the help from Finnish duo Komytea. He was classically trained on the violin, but fate had him run into another instrument: the synthesizer. He has a love for 80s music and it definitely shows in his records. He recently released his debut artist album 'Temporarity' which is quite amazing. You can listen and buy it here on Beatport. So with out further ado, the sounds of Michael Cassette:

Jaytech

Jaytech is without a doubt, one of my favorite all time producers. Maestro of progressive and trance, his tracks are somehow funky, jacking, euphoric, bouncy, full of groovy basslines and melodic all at the same time. He's released countless amazing songs on his home-base label (and my favorite progressive house label), Anjunadeep.

I definitely love spinning his tunes and he's given a way a couple of tracks on his SoundCloud that I think you'll dig. Then below that I've also posted his live set at Above & Beyond's Trance Around the World #350 party in L.A. Listen and enjoy the beats of the one and only Jaytech!

Utah Jazz

Luke Wilson AKA Utah Jazz, is one of the original liquid funksters. He started mixing Drum & Bass whilst still at school, inspired by LTJ Bukem & Alex Reece and his DJ career soon blossomed – randomly adopting the name ‘Utah Jazz’ from the US Basketball team to showcase his preference for the mid 90s ‘Jazz-Jungle’ sound.

In 2008, his debut album ‘It’s A Jazz Thing’ was released worldwide to both commercial and critical acclaim - cementing Utah Jazz’s position as one of the major cross-over D&B artists this side of the millennium. Pipped at the post by worthy winners Chase & Status, 'It's A Jazz Thing' was also the 2nd highest placed Drum & Bass album in Mixmag's famous 2008 Top 50 poll, with Pendulum coming in 3rd.
